Open to boys who have received their First Communion, the Altar Servers ministry provides a meaningful way to serve God and the parish community. By assisting the priest during Mass, altar servers help maintain the reverence and flow of the liturgy. This role fosters a deeper understanding of the Mass and encourages spiritual growth through active participation.

Assistant Sacristans play a vital role in preparing the church for the celebration of the Eucharist. Their duties include setting up the altar, ensuring that liturgical vessels and vestments are in place, and assisting with other preparations to help maintain the sacredness of the Mass. This behind-the-scenes service is essential to the smooth flow of liturgical celebrations.

A Catholic women’s organization committed to faith, service, and fellowship. Members work together to support parish needs and community outreach. Meetings take place on the first Monday of the month at 6:00 p.m. in Assumption Hall.

The choir leads the congregation in worship through music and song. Open to parishioners of all ages (1st grade and older), the choir practices weekly and sings at various Masses and special liturgical celebrations.

Volunteers assist in beautifying the church for different liturgical seasons, including Christmas, Easter, and Ordinary Time. This ministry ensures a welcoming and reverent environment for worship.

A prayer group that meets weekly to study and reflect on the upcoming Sunday’s liturgical readings. This gathering fosters a deeper understanding of Scripture and strengthens faith in community. Meetings are held every Tuesday at 4:00 PM at the Basile Library (3036 E Stagg Ave, Basile, LA 70515).

Volunteers teach or assist in religious education classes, helping children grow in their faith and prepare for sacraments. This ministry is vital in passing on the teachings of the Catholic Church.

Volunteers collect and distribute food on the third Tuesday of each month at the First Baptist Church in Basile (3001 E Schambers, Basile, LA 70515). This cooperative effort between churches helps provide nourishment to those in need.

Priests visit and celebrate Mass for residents at the local nursing home every Tuesday at 9:15 AM. This ministry brings the presence of Christ to those unable to attend Mass at church.

Parishioners commit to spending one hour each week in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament at the Adoration Chapel inside Assumption Hall. The chapel is open 24 hours a day, providing a space for quiet reflection and devotion.

A group of women who sew prayer quilts for the sick and pray for those in need and the deceased. Quilts serve as a tangible reminder of God’s love and our parish’s prayers.

The R.C.I.A. (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) program welcomes adults seeking to join the Catholic Church or complete their sacraments.
Through weekly meetings beginning each September, participants deepen their understanding of the faith, guided by a team of parishioners and clergy.
