Assumption Chapel
At St. Augustine Church, our Perpetual Adoration Chapel offers a sacred space to encounter Christ in the Eucharist, echoing the profound devotion of our patron saint, St. Augustine of Hippo. St. Augustine, known for his deep love of God and eloquent teachings, once proclaimed, "No one eats that flesh unless he first adores it; we sin by not adoring." His words remind us of the importance of Eucharistic adoration as a pathway to deeper union with Christ and a way to express our faith in His Real Presence.
Through Perpetual Adoration, we invite you to follow in the footsteps of St. Augustine by spending time in prayer, contemplation, and worship before the Blessed Sacrament. This devotion not only strengthens our personal relationship with Jesus but also enriches our parish community with the peace and grace that flow from the Eucharist.
Whether you come for a few minutes or commit to a weekly hour, the Adoration Chapel is always open to all who seek solace and strength in the True Presence of Christ, most present in the Eucharist.

Why is Perpetual Adoration important?
Perpetual Adoration is a beautiful expression of our belief in the Real Presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist. It allows us to fulfill Jesus’ invitation to “stay awake and keep watch” (Matthew 26:41) while growing in faith, love, and devotion. By spending time in His presence, we unite ourselves with the prayers of the Church around the world and draw closer to God’s infinite grace and mercy.
What should I do during my time in Adoration?
Your time in Adoration is an opportunity to be with Jesus in the quiet of your heart. You can pray, meditate on scripture, reflect on your day, recite the Rosary, read a spiritual book, or simply sit in silence, listening to the Lord. There is no specific requirement—just come as you are and let Christ speak to you in the stillness. You are welcome to use any prayer aids and devotionals found in the Adoration Chapel.
